IN NEED OF KINDNESS June 8, 2020

The Word today (Isaiah 63) shows us a GOD full of loving-kindness, in spite of man’s rebellion and unfaithfulness.

Sadly, the world today needs this kind but it is lacking. Yes, there are many kind and nice people out there, even generous too, but unfortunately many of them are only doing it for the likes, the hearts, and the resume. Rare is the person who can be kind because of love, for love too is often abused to mean subservience and mindless surrender of one’s principles and person in order to appease the other and address their emotional dependency.

So how do we make sure we partake of this brand? The Word tells us that even in difficulties and tribulations (the winepress being trodden in anger), we see GOD’s deliverance and mercy. It show us that in the days of affliction and trouble He sends His Angel to save us, redeem and carry us as He did to our fathers of the faith. He reminds us that just as He parted the sea for His people to pass through, so will He make a way for us amidst all the challenges we face daily. We only need to call on Him as Our Heavenly Father, because He is our Redeemer and His Name is everlasting.

May we be His light to all the world, and show them that though the world and its authorities may trample upon our rights, though even our friends abuse and use us for their own gain and to our detriment, there is a GOD who will gladly take vengeance for us and win our cause. May this be our motivation to be more patient and persistent instead of trying to do everything we can to climb to the top, to be always first, to be always more convenient than the other person, to always have the best of anything and everything the world has to offer. May His loving-kindness show us our own unworthiness so that we may learn to let go of our sense of entitlement to things, to attention, to fame, to wealth, to opportunities, to life’s chances. For instead of the world and all its trappings, we are infinitely and eternally better off if we have a GOD who daily shows us His mercy and grace.
